Welcome to Whitewater Christian Church!
Hello,
My name is Troy Beckner, I am the minister of Whitewater Christian Church. Let me ask you a question, "When was the last time you were part of an organization of any kind that was over a hundred years old?" Well, here at Whitewater we have the ability to say that we are part of something that has been here since the late 1800's. It is an honor to be a part of God's work here in Whitewater, my hope is to preach the truth of the gospel, and lead people to know more about Jesus, and how to get involved in his work here on earth. I hope that we can get to know each other, and maybe join the family we have here at Whitewater, I love the family atmosphere, and knowing that if I need someone or something I have a church family who is always willing to listen or help out. May the Lord bless you and Keep you safe.

Whitewater Christian Church was established in February of 1868, there was a group of people around Whitewater some of whom were members at the Bethel Church who decided they wanted a church in Whitewater. They met for a brief time at "the old seminary just west of town" In 1875 property was purchased just south of Whitewater, and a brick building was built, which burnt down in 1920. The current building was constructed on the same foundation as the old one, and an addition was constructed in 1961. Here is a brief summary of what the early church agreed to follow:
"We the undersigned immersed believers in Jesus the Christ, have united ourselves into a congregation of Disciples, for the purpose of keeping the ordinances as they are delivered to us in the Gospel of the grace of God. Also to render assistance to each other in perfecting holiness in ourselves and extending the kingdom of our Lord, in our immediate community and the world. We accept no creed but the Bible, acknowledge no Lordship but Jesus, impose no duty not required by divine law in the New Testament. We claim no right to infringe upon the individual conscience in only matters of opinion, and hence permit the larger liberty of opinion, but demand a full and uncompromising faith in the Lord Jesus and obedience to His word."
We have a long history of some great leaders here in Whitewater, and our prayer is that we will carry on until our generation is able to pass it on to the next, unless our Lord and Savior decides it is time to call us home before then, we will be ready if He so chooses.

Troy's Thought for the Week:
I would like to share a note from a daily devotional I read this past week, we all have read or heard about Sully the pilot who landed his wounded plan on the Hudson, in a quote he said, "For 42 years, I've been making small regular deposits in this bank of experience: education and training, and on January 15, the balance was sufficient so that I could make a very large withdrawal." -US Airways Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, in an interview with CBS Evening News, June 12, 2009. Where are we making our deposits, when the time comes for us to make a withdrawal will the necessary resources be there, I'm not referring to our financial resources, but our spiritual ones. My prayer is that each of us, will have this answered by the time comes.
